Yards of scrap

20141122_112221 20141122_112658 20141122_112803 20141122_112847This is one of Bahrain’s well-known scrap yards where one can get any part of any car and any make. One just needs patience. It’s a ‘goldmine’ for anyone who has had a minor accident, or needs just one small, but critical, spare part. However, I was not as lucky since parts of “large American SUV’s” are hard to come by. But I did get some pictures of some very run down vehicles of all kinds. I wonder what stories they have to tell on how they ended up at this “mortuary”. Will leave that for another time!

Its in the Sakhir desert – Askar area actually. And, no, I don’t have a number. Look at the phone book and , perhaps, you will get it!

  2. On the one hand, sights like these are depressing…they show ‘past lives’ and yet, there is hope buried in those graveyard bones. The various stories that could be entombed deep in the remnants of their past lives must be massive.

    1. You’re right! The stories that lie within these would be just awesome. Many sad, others, of miracles – and hope!
