Flowers – Power and Colour

Being in Bahrain, we are actually starved of such beauty of nature, staying in very harsh summer for three months, with another three months of mild to harsh summer and around three months of what we pretend is winter.
The remaining three months are what we say are ‘moderate – it is neither cold, not warm, it does not rain and there is no fixed weather!
So when we find ourselves in a place where nature is in abundance, we naturally swoon over it and behave as if this is the ultimate.
It is, actually, because once in Bahrain we will have to either wait to return to these beautiful climes or look forward to that ever so short “winter” when we have a semblance of colour in terms of flowers and greenery!
I thoroughly enjoyed taking these rather amateurish photographs and hope they bring some ‘colour’ to the readers of this blog.
Yes, these may sound childish to those who stay in those parts of the world that are blessed with natural beauty but for us in Bahrain, this is heaven – which we do not see often!
This is also what I miss about India the most – lush green fields, the gardens, the visits to the nursery and travelling along those tree-lined green highways, with equally green paddy and wheat field thrown in for good measure! But, yes, in Bahrain, we have what, as children, we always wanted to be close to – the vast ocean, the sea, the tide and the deep waters.
Well, you can’t win after all! You win some, you lose most!!

Thank you Sir. As I said, staying in a desert nation, we get really excited when we see flowers!

You can have some Norwegian rain any time you feel like it!

Lovely shots! I especially like the detail of the bee photos. I sometimes dabble with photographs of flowers and insects, but somehow the camera just never does justice to their magnificence!
