Different strokes!

ResizeThis picture of two very contrasting images of Bahrain was taken this evening courtesy a “land grab” in Busaiteen area. The “land” came into existence around three months ago when a large part of the sea was reclaimed following two weeks of non-stop activity. When we went for a walk along the coast today, we also took a stroll on the new land from where this picture took shape. Walking along the coast shows either the shacks or the buildings – never both. I have seen a lot of pictures of Bahrain but have never seen any like this, though I am sure there are many – from other locations on the island.
Since the sky was extremely dull and colourless and the picture even more so, I decided to bring it some “life” with the sepia effect. The photograph, for first-time visitors to this blog, shows the Manama skyline contrasting with fishermen’s and weekend shacks which dot the coast all over the country!
