Prayer Power

DSC_8395.JPGA high point during our five-day trip to Sikkim was coming across Buddhist prayer flags as well as prayer wheels everywhere we went. While prayer wheels are there only within the scores of monasteries that dot the landscape, it is the (mostly) white and colourful prayer flags that make the area seem very serene and peaceful.
No wonder, then, Sikkim is a very happy place. As I have said earlier, we did not come across a single sad face or an angry expression, so unlike in the plains when everyone seems on edge!
