I went into the old Manama Suq after a while this evening and came up with some interesting ‘faces.” A selection appears on this blog tonight.
Bahrain, and particularly the capital, Manama, is a melting pot of cultures, nationalities and religions and all these are in abundance when the weekend (Friday and Saturday) comes around.
A walk through the old city’s lanes and bylanes is always a revelation as these pictures, which capture a cross-section of the faces, show.
No matter how many times one visits the place, each visit brings with it something new, something that I have not seen earlier. The faces are always fresh, always different.
What is always the same is the spirit – the happiness, and the sadness – the anxieties, the tensions, the longing.
But what takes me back there all the time is the vibrancy – something that I love to watch.
