Today is World Teddy Bear Day! Celebrated on February 10, the fourth day of Valentine’s week, it is supposedly meant for people across the globe to gift each other teddy bears to express their “undying love” for one another.
But this teddy, found dumped in a trash bin in a Hoora, Bahrain locality, tells another story. It’s in bad shape, torn in some places and an eye missing as well. It is by no means a happy teddy.
I found hard to resist putting these pictures on this blog when my teenaged daughter sent them to me, also saying it is Teddy Day (How would i know otherwise?).
While I wonder what the story behind this is, all I can say, it does not need teddies, chocolates, flowers or gifts to express love. Just being with that special someone is blessing enough – and it’s priceless!
