Beyond eyeballs

A picture speaks louder than words. Yes, that’s true.
I have been in this area in in Bahrain’s Seef district hundreds of times and have waited at this particular traffic signal on as many occasions but have never, ever seen the sight you see in this picture.
The Citibank headquarters on the left and the A’Ali United Bank on the right are two of the most beautifully designed buildings in the country, but together they present a view the naked eye cannot see.
I took this picture using my Nikon D90 with a 10mm super wide lens as I waited at the signal and the result is just awesome, especially since the sun had just set and night was just minutes away.
The more I look at this picture, the more I am convinced any picture can create a certain magic since what is captured with a camera lens cannot be captured and preserved in the human brain.
Every time you look at any picture, it presents a new, previously unseen, view, and each time there are new colours, new angles, and a new perspective. I would have never known these two buildings together are so majestic if I had not seen this picture.
I sometimes just go out with my camera with no particular plan and just click any picture – anywhere. It could be a street cat, a stray dog, an old building, a disused warehouse, a fishing dhow or simply a street scene – but in each picture, there is a certain something that makes it stand out.
This is how this picture, and many others, have come about.
And this will continue to happen.
