A turn for the desert!

A turn for the desert!

Bahrain’s annual desert camping season to begin in the next two weeks. The “festival”, when hundreds of families stay in tents in the sandy and rocky parts of the Island for months on end, is a time when the area transforms into in large city. Small markets also come up and telecom companies set up mobile transmission towers to enable campers to stay connected.
The police, other security agencies and officials of Bahrain’s Southern Governorate, along with those from the Gulf region’s oldest petroleum producer, Bapco, make sure all goes on well and that there are no mishaps until the season ends towards the middle of March.
It’s a time to look forward to for Bahrain’s residents when the weather is also perfect. Here’s looking forward to a fruitful season ahead!
