This Ariel shot is more evidence of how Bahrain has grown over the last nearly 15 years I have been here. One of the country’s busiest junctions, that at the crossing of Port Salman and the King Faisal Highway, is now a spanking new flyover and underpass. While the former has opened for traffic well ahead of its scheduled completion, the underpass will be commissioned in the next few months. With that, it would become possible for trucks carrying goods from Bahrain to Saudi Arabia to move non-stop and without encountering a traffic intersection to and from the King Fahad Causeway and along the Isa bin Salman Highway, to Port Khalifa bin Salman in Hidd. This will, no doubt, prove a huge impetus for trade for both countries, particularly for Bahrain where several manufacturers are now taking advantage of the Free Trade Agreement with the United States.
