Gum it a Go

I learnt something interesting today. That chewing gum helps one concentrate better.

Wow – that was a revelation! Now I know why cricketers always look like cows chewing the cud, now I am aware why (ex) colleagues went around desperately seeing gum when they ran out and now I have an idea why I could actually drive better when I had a pack of Spout in the car!1

Well, wonders never stop. One learns something new every day. If I had not heard it on the BBC, I would have taken it with a pinch of salt but when a whole programme is dedicated to how people concentrate better, I am forced to chew on it.

Yes, Mr Google has confirmed it. So has Wikipedia. So its authentic. Gum does help!2

But what it will not do is to get drivers to stay off mobiles. It will also not get bad writers become better and it will not get certain players into the team.

But, yes, it will help, they say.

The next big step, however, is for someone to invent something that gets drivers to stay off mobiles.

I already have that. Its called common sense!!

But it is also a very well known fact that chewing gum causes mouth cancer. Most number of mouth cancer cases have been through result of excessive chewing of gum.Very good alternatives for gum are herbs like mint leaves or parsley which gives the same concentration effects of chewing gum and fresh breath!
