Having a Ball

Youngsters play football on the Busaiteen coast on a hazy and dusty Bahrain evening weekend. Sport is a major past time for hundreds, with groups seen at every available open space. Though football and volleyball are popular among locals, the “gentleman’s game” of cricket is played by
expatriate communities from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. It is not uncommon to see young and old alike gather even at empty office parking lots on Fridays and Saturdays to enjoy a game, hold impromptu tournaments and attract an enthusiastic audience.
