This is one of modern Bahrain’s earliest landmarks – the Batelco Building in Bab Al Bahrain and the adjoining mosque. Though I am fascinated with the buildings’ design and placement, I had so far never photographed the two together. It was pleasantly surprise last week when my first-ever ‘joint picture’ went on Facebook and invited a comment – from the designer himself – who said it was his company that did the Batelco building and that the mosque was a ‘design feature.’
Though the gentleman is an immaculate professional, I now know he is actually brilliant! I was sure there was a catch somewhere!
