High Point

I came across this photograph of the Bahrain Financial Harbour as I cleared my office desk this morning. It dates back to 2007 and was perhaps the first I had taken of the landmark skyscraper. Though I used a basic Casio digital camera for this shot (the shake is pretty much obvious), it started in me a fascination for the twin towers in the heart of the country’s financial district and led to scores more pictures from different angles and different points. The buildings were the first real skyscrapers in Bahrain when the country’s landscape started to show itself. There were a few tall buildings but this commanding edifice is still perhaps the most photographed along with the now equally prominent Bahrain World Trade Centre. As is clear on this blog, the towers manage to creep into many frames – knowingly or otherwise!
